I’ve heard that some drugs produce false-positive urinalysis results for different conditions. Is this true? If we do get false-positive results and different colors, how do we know what to report
we was talking about this in lab class.

This is absolutely true. Let me give you an example.
There are people, men mostly, who like to work out and get as big as they can. Now, let me add that these people are law-abiding people. They won't touch steroids. They went down to their local GNC and bought a drug called Kreatine [sic]. This drug does wonders with boosting stamina. It is also produced in your body when another chemical is added outside of Kreatine [sic]. When people try to mask drugs in their system before a urinalysis, kreatine [sic] is present. So, only one of two ways can kreatine [sic] show up in your system: either masking drugs or taking a supplement.
It is very important to tell your doctor everything that you are taking. This can explain certain chemicals. This is only one example.
And your last sentence, "we was talking about this in lab class" is incorrect. It is simply "we were..."
