They all are a tad different on color tint some oils are real light golden brown while others are a darker brown, and some synthetics are green, and others are purple (Royal Purple). I know that Valvoline is a darker synthetic then say MAG 1 FMX synthetic, I have not used Mobil 1 but the color could be normal.
If it is a shady shop trying to cheat you they may have put the bulk oil in your car and you got charged for the high dollar Mobil 1, and guess what most places use about the worst oil on the planet as bulk oil and that is Pennzoil conventional oil.
If you dumped a fresh, new sample of every brand full synthetic motor oil into separate 8 oz. clear glass containers, every one will have a slightly different color. If the car is brand new the oil will not change colors for thousands if miles because the inside of the motor is already clean. The more miles on the odometer however the oil will change to a darker color faster.
Mobil1. has a very strong detergent package which is cleaning the inside of a dirty engine which is the best thing that could ever happen to the motor.
Any new car dealer will use your Mobil1 from Walmart if you bring it in when the car is do for an oil change if you don't trust who ever did it for you last.
