Is it OK to supercharge 93 Mazda Protegé DX?
I have been looking into supercharging my car but I am wondering what would it take to do it safely. Also what is the compression ratio on a b8 engine and is it good enough to handle a supercharger?

Mazda had a turbo on the 87-88 323, which is basically the same as the protege. It was also all wheel drive. It was a great little car, fast, and held up well.
They changed the engine several times: 1600 SOHC, 1800 SOHC, 1600 DOHC (Miata and Protege) and 1800 DOHC. Always was a good motor. Think they lowered the compression on the Turbo motor, I know they did on the turbo 626's
this Mazda motor is a non-interference motor. I have not in any respect considered the valves hit on one which the timing belt broke, yet I have considered different non-interference automobiles hit valves & reason very a lot of harm. if u are asking this so that you'll be able to strech out the time b4 u replace it i does no longer wait too lengthy. i have considered them damage at 70k periods b4. it"s no longer a nasty theory to positioned a water pump in there collectively thinking if it is going out you'll finally end up paying the exertions for the timing belt again.
