I'm 16 and a sophomore in high school. I've been looking at job applications and almost everyone of them have a question that reads ¨Are you currently a student?¨. I don't know whether I should mark ¨yes¨ or ¨no¨. Isn't a ¨student¨ someone who is in college/university? There is also a question that reads ¨Do you currently have a high school diploma or GED?¨. What should I mark for that question? Please help, I don't want to screw up my chances at getting my first job :(

As long as you go to school, you are a student so it doesn't matter if its high school or college really. They ask your age on the application too so you dont have to worry, if you give them the right age, they will know why you dont have your diploma yet. Good luck! I hope you get the job!
Anyone attending a school is a student, no matter what level, or type of school it is. Most applications ask that so that they can arrange your work schedule around your (and they understand that it is) more important school schedule.
If you haven't graduated and are still attending school then yes, you are a student. FWIW, not too many people realize that a job application is a reading
comprehension test. If a person can't understand basic instructions on the form then how can that person be an asset to the employer? Employers want to know what skill sets and knowledge people possess that will contribute to the success of the company. If they can't find anything then they shouldn't expect to be hired. Good luck.
A student is anyone in school from kindergarten to someone who is working on their Phd. at a university. If you are in high school you do not have a diploma nor a GED.
A high school student is a student, and since you haven't graduated, you don't have a diploma or GED. Some employers hire high school students, and some don't, but it's no use lying to try to get a better job.
You're in school, you're a student whether you are in preschool or graduate school. You have NOT graduated from high school yet, and you answer "NO" to question regarding your HS diploma. Good grief!
A student is someone who is in SCHOOL.
Yes, you are a student.
