Intel ® Core ™ i7= Chip type (example: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Celeron, etc.). The i7 is currently the top of the line chip, and is quad core, meaning it is 4 chips in 1.
720QM is the model.
1.6ghz=the speed of each chip. Your "total" speed is 1.6ghz X 4= 6.4Ghz
2.8ghz turbo mode= When all the chips are not in use(most programs wont use 4 chips), it will increase the speed of ONE of the chips, so that your programs that dont use multiple chips will run faster. This is a good thing, and is brand new.
6MB Cache= This is memory on the chip that can increase access times. That's all you really need to know, and 6MB is good.
If you enable turbo mode in the bios it will overclock to 2.8ghz without any changes to the voltage.
6mb L3 cache is the onboard cpu memory, decently high but the 820qm has an 8mb cache which makes it a bit quicker when interfacing with the system ram and southbridge which controls the rest of the hardware.

Hope that helps.
Core i7 720 = Intel PM55 Express “Ibex Peak” chipset Quad core
QM = laptop cpu
1.6ghz = speed of processor

GHz= clock speed. Cache is a small memory storage much faster then Ram to increase data access.
