In the song 'Escape' (otherwise known as the 'Piña colada' song), why does it...?
Why does it first talk about having 'half a brain' but then in the reply where he responds to each line she says, he talks about champagne?
Update:And then he talks about her liking champagne, when she never said she did.

Lordy god.....you know, I was a teenager when that song came out and for the first 6000 times they played it, it was like, "Coooollllll"! And then I ended up absolutely, positively urrrrggggghhhhhh......h...a....t...i....n....g.....it.
I still do, but it's just one of those songs like James Blunt's "You're beautiful" that you hear so much you end up hating it.
It was goofy and as an aside? And I swear, I AM NOT making this up!
After that song came out, you would NOT believe how many personal ads started flooding newspapers with similar type tag lines because of that idiot song......
Well half a brain was an expression back then for someone at least a little bit intelligent. About the champagne part not sure. That has got to be the most played soft rock tune of all time.
Simply because it rhymes. ;)
