It is spoken to express solemn ratification or agreement. It means “it is so” or “so it be.” Amen is derived from the Hebrew āmēn, which means “certainty,” “truth,” and “verily.”

What are other words of affirmation used in religious services/ceremonies?
btw...happy Sunday!
Update:UMMMM
I included the definition of "amen" but I really want to know "What are other words of affirmation used in religious services/ceremonies?" I guess maybe I was thinking of things like "hallelujah!". Do you know any others?

Praise God. Which was traditionally Jewish. Very similar to the word Hallelujah.
So basically it's just an affirmation then. Like a verbal underscore, or highlight.
Then the modern version may as well be "I'm not kidding", but said really slowly & solemnly, if we're to be faithful to the original intention.
Or perhaps just a simple "Pull-eease".
Ahh, unquestioning devotion to the ineffable. Keeping people in line for millennia.
I'm not normally quite so cynical btw, it's just that parroted liturgy always gets my goat. Hence my not providing other suitable phrases; they just don't come readily to mind for me.
Hope your Sunday's a nice one though.
its like saying over when using a 2 way radio
I suppose it's like pressing "Send" when you write an e mail. Pity there is no recipient.
amen mean i believe
THE LITERAL TRANSLATION OF THE LATIN IS ... SO BE IT .... MEANING WHAT WAS JUST SAID IS TRUE ....
THE OTHER AFFIRMATIONS ARE TOO NUMEROUS TO LIST ....
It means "so be it"
When I WAS a Catholic, it meant "so be it".
