I would definitely notify the owner of the house. Make sure you let them know that you are very sorry about that, and if the object is replaceable, make sure you offer to buy them a new one.
i would seek the butler and tell him I had accidentally broken the said object and ask him to remove the pieces I would then tell my host/hostess what I had done and offer to make amends.

I would tell the owner of whatever it was, apologise profusely and offer to buy them a replacement immediately.
And you should do the same.
To hide it, or deny having broken it, or lie is cowardly, irresponsible and totally dishonest.
