my gosh everybody knows that x equals the unknown factor. how about a harder question . Like what is how does Diphasphiro Glyceric acid equate in the process of changing the dissociation curve of the oxyhemoglobin thereby causing the Cancer cell to resort to Uni-valent reduction of oxygen . And did you know that this simple equation may lead the cancer cell to produce it's own chemo-therapy h2o2 hydrogen peroxide which in turns distroyes the cancer cell in its tracks ... But this has been in the process of evaluation for almost 10 years . And it has been proven in test cases for those same ten years and saved scores of terminal patients ... But then who wants to know about this ?????

Take the derivative
f '=3x^2+3x-168=3(x^2+x-56)
Set this equal to zero
3(x^2+x-56)=0
Simplify as 3(x+8)(x-7). You can foil this to check.
x=-8 and x=7 will make f ' =0. There you go!

f′(x) is a quadratic, and it factors.
