I want to get my bachelors’ degree in social work but I’m really shy, should I pick a different major?
This may I will be getting my associates degree in human services and I want to go on and get my bachelor’s degree in social work, but I am really shy. I really enjoy and want to help others but I’m scared I won’t be able to succeed because I’m so shy. Should I change my major to something else? Or how can I overcome being shy?

You just have a story about being shy. Maybe the question is: "am I effective?" Go for your dream.
You need to join a local Toastmasters club. They cure shyness about 80% of the time within 3 to 6 months.
And it is cheap to belong. There are thousands of clubs ans these should be one near you that meets at a convenient time for you.
And as a reward, they also teach you to become an effective public speaker in about 80% of cases.
It took my daughter from being a shy 15 year old so that by age 20 she could speak in front of an audience of hundreds.
now come on, if you like it, go for it. try to join some clubs or student societies so you can meet new people and learn to work with others. you can do it!
