The owner of the places didn’t let me know about the holes in the walls when I moved in. I’ve been out since the end of January and my stuff has stayed there so shes asking for rent and just reducing $100 the regular price is $400. The price $300 in my eyes would be alright if I was still there while they’re remodeling it. What price do you think she should give me. By the way I live in San Bernardino, CA. Thank you

I would tell her the place is unlivable both because of the rats and because of the remodeling, and offer her noting and let her talk you into paying $50-$100 per month as a storage fee for your stuff. Just see what you can negoitiate but if she is being unreasonable, not sure how this will play out (and you might want to go get all your stuff so she can't hold it hostage if you can't work something out and maybe she will stop trying to collect anything from you).
If this went to court I don't really know how it would go. If the place really is unlivable then the landlord can't collect rent but you should have to pay something for her essenially storing your stuff there. if the court agreed that the place is unlivable maybe whatever the going rate is for storing that amount of stuff would be the rate the court would charge, but not really sure on this one.
You legally owe rent as long as you have belongings in the unit. There is no set $$ amount . What if any discount she gives you is 100% up to her. If you are not going to live there anymore you need to get all your stuff out & give back the keys.
as long as anything you own, even a tooth brush is there you are there and you pay rent
however a garage is not a legal dwelling and he is in error to even claim rent on an illegal rental
Why is your stuff still there? Is that what the rent is for? If so, look up what a small storage unit costs in your area. You should be paying much less than those going rates which are secure and private.
If your stuff is there, she does not have use of the space and you do owe the rent. You should be paying full rent. If they are remodeling the space and you can't live there, you owe no rent.
Doesn't matter what price others think, it is about the landlord/tenant and as both seem to want to rent illegally as vehicles live in garages not people
Either pay what they ask or rent a storage unit.
If you have broken the agreement then you need to pay them the rent.
Did you give a notice? Did you check the place before signing the lease? If not then that’s your fault and you should pay them before they file papers and raise the fee
