the transmission filter is the last thing that i would look at b ut it is still on the list. you should have the 4t65e trans. a computer controlled device that you can plug a scanner into for data that will help you in this very situation. if the light does not come on, that does not mean that nothing is wrong just yet. the code may not have matured just yet so it is stored in the pending codes area of the cpu. start with checking the fluid level and condition. if it is low, that can be an issue. if it is a dark color, that can be a bad sign. if the fluid id pink, that is a sign that the cooler has failed. if the level is full and the condition is moderate, then it would be time for a trans shop since the trans is a bit complex for some one that has not torn one open just yet. the issue can also be with the torque converter. look up the stall speed test and guides for the rpm ranges.
before you start with transmission being a problem i would have a shop or yourself check the back pressure on the exhaust system as this will cause the same thing if exhaust converters are plugged up... if they test ok then move on to things like low fuel pressure if thats ok then look to the transmission. having rebuilt a many transmissions i can tell you if you cant get over 35 mph then the engine rpms will be reving high because of slippage or it just wont shift gears....if it wont shift gears then you have a toasted clutch pack or bad shift solenoid.
the respond on your question isn't any the Impala isn't a guy's vehicle, It hasn't been because of the fact the 1996 sort year Impala SS. The 1997- contemporary Impala fashions are conventional in form to allure to a extensive selection of skill shoppers frequently females, it somewhat is why you do not see a coupe or convertible sort of the Impala. If a guy is taking advice from a woman on what form of vehicle he ought to purchase because of the fact she thinks it somewhat is horny and lovable, then that guy is an entire douche. As for one in each of those vehicle i could purchase for myself, i could get the two a avert Challenger R/T or a Shelby Mustang GT-500.
