i am looking for a portable external harddrive to back up my laptop for around £50-60 i have viewed the "Toshiba HDDR320E03E 320GB 2.5-Inch Ext USB Hard Drive" the "Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB USB Portable External Hard Drive" and the "Seagate 320GB FreeAgent Go Portable Black USB 2.0". Is there any better, faster more reliable portable hard drives. if so or if not which one do you recommend i get?

Check Tigerdirect com Very good prices and watch the sales. I receive email alerts for their sales.
320 - 160 = "how big of a difference." I never spend more than 100$ on a hard drive, because the space you get for 100$ changes so often. Space is cheap, and is getting bigger all the time. I've been buying computer hardware for more than 15 years - and this is my rule of thumb. In 3 months that 320GB HDD will be 100$, and you will groan because you spent 75$ too much.
Check out the western digital external hard drive, sometimes you can find them on sale.
I use a FREECOM and swear by it. It has never given a bit of trouble and stores more stuff than I shall ever have.
