My interior design teacher gave us a floor plan in PDF format. The floor plan has a scale displayed underneath but it’s in meters. What we need to do first is convert the meters into inches and I know that 1 meter=3.3 inch but in addition we also have to scale it to ¼”=1’ by basically blowing it up on a copier. Does anyone know how to do that? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So you want a scale of 1 : 48
Whats the existing scale ?
If its mixed units ie metres and inches , say 1 metre = 3 1/3 inches , convert one so they are both have the same units , so 1 metre = ( 3 1/3 * 0.0254 ) 0.084666 metres
Then divide 1 metre by 0.084666 metre = 1 : 11.811 ( current scale )
Now divide 11.811 by 48 , then * 100 = 24.61 % of original size
So thats if the existing scale is a smaller ratio , if its a larger ratio say : 1 : 100 , use the same procedure , divide 100 by 48 , then * 100 = 208.333 % of original size
So:
a) Find current scale
b) Divide by 48 , multiply * 100 = % of original required.
Note : Make sure the original scale on your drawing is actually correct .
