How long? If he's not supporting you and the child now, he should have been giving child support from when she was born. Seek legal counsel and get the money he owes NOW.
You should have gone to court to secure the custody and file for child support the moment she was born. Child support isn't some pawn you dangle in front of a guy to try to make him do what you want. It's for your child so you don't have to pillage the taxpayers in order to raise her.
First of all, child support is not "pressed". It can be requested through legal channels, and a judge at court will issue a court order after paternity is established. Secondly, child support has nothing to do with visitation. Your child is entitled to financial support from both parents. Whether or not your child's other parent is interested in being in his child's life has nothing to do with it. Thirdly, stop using the term "baby daddy". There is no better way than that expression for making yourself sound like an uneducated loser.
Do what you feel is right to do in this situation, if you ve done all you can to rectify things between the both of you and he's still not stepping up, I totally understand taking things to the next level(lawyer, child support).

What a piece of sh*t. It's his daughter too and he needs to step up and help support her. Men are so unbelievably selfish.
If he has not done yet, he will not do so.

Get child support no matter if he's in her life or not. She deserves it.
Take him to court, and have him put on child support, do it now.
