Could you explain step by step?
2 / (2√5)
When you rationalize, just simply multiply by the same radical.
So you see a √5 on the deonominator, Just multiply top and bottom (numrator and denominator) by √5.
(2 / (2√5)) * (√5 / √5)
= (2√5) / (2√5*√5)
= (2√5) / (2*5)
= (2√5) / 10
= √5 / 5
Hope this helps :D
simply put: whatever you see on the denominator, multiply top and bottom by the same thing ;D
multiplying both numerator and denominator by â5, we get :
(2 x â5) / (2â5 x â5)
= 2â5 / 10 (2 and 10 get canceled and we're left with 5 in the denominator)
= â5 / 5
get first the conjugate of the denominator ( conjugate means the opposite sign of the given value )
... so the conjugate of 2â5 is - 2â5..
.... the multiply the original fraction with -2â5 / -2â5...
............................................................................
2 / 2â5 * -2â5 / -2â5.. it will look like this.................
multiply first the numerators...... 2 * -2â5 is -4â5
then multiply the denominators....... 2â5 * -2â5 is -4â25... simplified as -4*5 which is -20
.... so our fraction is now -4â5 / 20..
.............. simplify it.......................
-1â5 / 5.......... this is our final answer................ ^^,).. hope it help..
First from the equation you have to raise it first to the power of two = 4/20 then simplify = 1/5.... Thats all..
