At German Christmas Markets they sell a alcoholic drink called Glühwein AKA: Mulled wine. I live in the U.S. and I want to make it myself. How do I go about doing this? A list of specific ingredients and the amounts would help. Also could I make a virgin version of this drink without altering the taste? Thanks!

There is no exact recipe, because it must be sweet, while every wine is different. The origin of mulled wine was the Middle Ages, when people had no tea or coffee, but grew wine even in cool regions where it can never become good. There was no sugar, not many people could afford honey to sweeten their foods, so they helped themselves with resin.
In our days, some will thin the wine with water or add some orange juice or rum or all of it, others don't like that. Just pour it into a pot on the stove. Then add some sugar, until you like the taste. You need several spices. It starts with a piece of cinnamon stick, a slice of lemon or at least some lemon peel, it shouldn't be waxed of course. Some people like an apple slice instead of it, or in addition. Then add some cloves, some ginger, and a pinch of nutmeg.
It should be really hot for at least fifteen minutes, but must never start to boil. You will have to watch it carefully. Then enjoy.
BTW, make sure to put a spoon into the glass, before you pour the hot wine into it.
