I copied the symbol above from somewhere else. I know it is possible because I have done it once, but I then forget how. I don't mean how to make න on Microsoft Word, I am wondering how to make it on a Mac Book Pro.

The sinhala letter na can be produced online using Unicode U+0DB1
http://symbolcodes.tlt.psu.edu/bylanguage/sinhalac...
So you would use the "option" key and type "0db1" on your Mac.
When using Unicode online, the computer system being used is irrelevant, you type "&#x" then the code "0db1"

Or you can just download a Sinhala alphabet for your computer if there isn't one already, and set up a hot key for that particular letter.
Or use this vitual keyboard: http://t.branah.com/sinhala
