I don't know how to do the 5-(x+3) part could someone help a sista out?!
-2(x - 3) ≥ 5 - (x + 3)
-2x + 6 ≥ 5 - x - 3
6 - 2 ≥ - x + 2x
4 ≥ x
For the moment, forget the inequality and just do the simple algebra ..........
–2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3) --->
-2x + 6 ≥ 5 - x - 3 ---->
-2x + x ≥ 5 - 3 - 6 --->
- x ≥ -4 ..... Here's where you need to know something about inequalities.
If I divide by a negative number, I have to swith the inequality around:
-x/-1 ≥ -4/-1 ..... here's the switch ----->
x ≤ 4 .... The answer
Since u mentioned u dont know the RHS part let me help u on that,
5-(x+3)
5-x-3
5-3-x
2-x
-2x+6 ≥ 2-x
so you have –2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3)
you can distribute: -2x+3>= 5-x-3
if you add x to both sides you'll get -x+3>= 5-3
if you simplify a little bit you will get -x+3>= 2
now if you substract 3 to both sides it will get -x>=-1
and finally if you multiply the relation with -1 you'll get x<=1
(if you multiply an inequality with a negative number it will change the sense of the inequality)
