The most obvious example is the flood story in Genesis. The Gilgamesh Epic is older than Genesis and tells a story where the "great gods" Anu, Enlil, Ninurta, Ennugi, and Ea planned to flood the Earth and swore to secrecy. But Ea broke that oath and told Utnapishtim to build a boat with specific dimensions and load up all living creatures and you get the idea. And the similarities in even the little details between each other make this an obvious example of plagiarism. Knowing this how can you take any of the stories seriously?

According to 2 Timothy 3:16 it shows that all scriptures is inspired of God & then at Titus 1:2 it shows that God cannot lie. Since he was the one who inspired the men to write his words we can believe every word that we read in it.
You don't get it. THERE WAS A GREAT FLOOD and that's why there are so many flood stories, all of which say basically the same thing. But only the Bible tells us what went wrong, exactly who was spared, what happened after that, etc. There was a global flood and the Bible has the most complete account BY FAR.
God's Word is a treasure hidden in a field called the bible.
Look up "coincidence" in the dictionary. The fact that two different people in different times and places both mentioned a flood indicates plagiarism??
Your description of the Gilgamesh epic
and the following statement
- And the similarities in even the little details between each other make this an obvious example of plagiarism
Clearly demonstrate that one or more of the following is true:
- You've never read the Biblical account of the Deluge
- You have no idea what the phrase "similarities in even the little details between each" means
- You're just plain lying
I'm hoping it's the first.
Christians are not allowed to believe that any stories were plagiarized. Some of them actually teach that Satan told those other cultures the stories before they were written in the Bible texts just to confuse Christians.
Plagiarism is a modern concept. What is it? Did we Americans plagiarize the language; we got it from England? Did we plagiarize pizza, kindergarten, the tales of the Brothers Grimm, etc.? These things are part of our heritage. Why don't you say the Jews inherited some of the stories?
The of the matter: No it was no plagiarized, because the flood of Noah's day was 4990 BC. so if anything the Gilgamesh Epic plagiarized God holy word the bible and stole those word to make it look like it was first, but we have the facts, and the bible deals in facts, not fiction.
Not just Gilgamesh, but many other similar global flood stories came out around the same time as the Genesis flood narrative, from all over the world. Sounds like the people were retelling the stories of their common ancestors (Noah and his family) and it came across different. I would tend to think the story of Gilgamesh reaffirms that the flood story is actually based on a true story, but I would lean to the Bible for a more accurate telling of that story.
History doesn't save you. Living the life Jesus taught does. That's why Jesus came.
