Was notified by my former supplier last year about the switch which wasn’t my doing, thought it was the renting agency so I sent an email to ask but didn’t get any replies concerning that so I just haven’t been paying attention but it’s also been over a year that I haven’t received electricity bill nor the welcome letter or whatever notices from my so called new supplier. What do I do?

Find exact issue consulting electrician.
Maybe they have included it into your house taxes? They may have missed you and will not know it until they do an assessment. Which they may do once a year. Then they might figure it out. Meanwhile, no worries. They can't or won't back bill you thousands of dollars when they discover their error. Just someday you will get a bill for a regular electrical charge.
. You sent out the inquiries so use your head and remember what you sent where and what did you ask...to the best of your memory. Write it down as to the date these inquiries were sent, so you have a written record of what it is "later on when they do catch up." They will catch up, though it may just happen that your supplier get bought out by a bigger company and they do the books...or you sell the house and the new owner registers with the electrical company under his name.
. You essentially fell between the cracks. They have not noticed and may never notice.
"LUCKY SCHITT!"
where are you? a US state? Britain? likely answer is to call the so-called new supplier
This happened to me when I switched suppliers. I had nothing for 18 months, and then one day, they realised, but only charged me from the day they started taking meter readings. Keep a copy of the email you sent, and then do nothing. Don't for Gods sake volunteer to pay a penny. Wait and see what happens. If it worries you, set aside some money every month just to reassure yourself that if things DO get tense, you have the money to pay for it. But this is an admin error on THEIR part, not yours. You could possibly go forever without anyone charging you, because no contract has ever been made.
All you need to do is to set money aside for when they realise what's happened. It's also possible that you may never receive a bill. That happens, believe me.
Call the new supplier or visit their web site.
You better do something fast. You will be receiving a bill for hundreds of dollars when they catch up to this.
