Sorry I am asking questions like this, but I am trying to understand it. Basically what this means is anywhere I see f(x) I plug in what they gave me...
Therefore f(x+h) = x^2 +h -2?
plug in x+h into f(x), so...
(x+h)^2 - 2
(x+h)*(x+h) - 2
x^2 +2xh + h^2 - 2
f( x +h) = ( x + h)^2 - 2
f(x+h)= (x+h)^2-2= x^2+2hx+h^2-2
f(x) = x^2 – 2
f( x +h) = ( x + h)^2 - 2 ans
