Family law question regarding child support please read ?
Me and my husband are Canadian. We are living in the states temporarily while my husband works. I pay my ex child support for my two boys. I am pay every month and never behind.
My ex and I have a court date next month and he told me he’s going to ask the judge that they freeze my passport to never allow me back into the states as I should be working and living in Canada. ( I don’t work in the states) but I do pay my support. Can a judge actually do this to someone who pays support every month? My ex is a lonely bitter man and jealous. And we’re not living in the states forever just 2 years.

Judges are used to bitter people after a divorce. They are experienced at trying to separate fact from fiction. Vexatious complaints from real issues. It is EXTREMELY unlikely that a judge would suspend or hold your passport unless there was a risk that YOU would take the children out of Canada illegally.
He can ask the judge anything he wants.. but no, there would be no reason for a judge to grant his request.

Yes, a Judge can revoke your Canadian passport; A Judge can prevent you from leaving Canada; a Judge can do whatever he thinks is in the best interest of your children.

If you have financial records to prove you're paying child support regularly and you haven't missed any payments, and you can also prove that your stay in the U.S. is temporary while your spouse is working there, then your ex should have no complaint. Now, he could try to say you abandoned your sons by moving to another country. Do you ever see your boys, and do you have any kind of relationship with them other than paying child support? He might try to say you're an "unfit parent" if you never communicate with your children, and if you left him for your present husband, he'll try to bring up questionable morality and how that has impacted the boys. These bitter exes can get really nasty, so do your homework and bring all of the documentation you can to prove you want to have a positive relationship with your children. If you have any text messages, emails or anything else to prove the ex has blocked you from communicating with them, that would help your cause. Good luck.
