Edgar Morin, alias Edgar Nahoum (Paris, July 8, 1921), is an anthropologist, French philosopher and sociologist of Sephardic origin.
Emeritus Researcher of the CNRS (Center National de la Recherche Scientifique). Graduated in Law, History and Geography, studies in Philosophy, Sociology and Epistemology. Author of more than thirty books, among them: The method (6 volumes), Introduction to complex thought, conscience and Science with the seven competencies needed for the education of the future.
During World War II, joined the French Resistance.
It is considered one of the leading thinkers and one of the leading theorists of complexity.
