Well Clinton wasn't criminally negligent. She was expressing frustration after many many hours of questioning about a politicized event. Republicans in that case weren't really interested in getting to the truth, just in smearing her. Kevin McCarthy, who is now the Republican leader in the House and was the Majority Whip back then, admitted to the media that the sole purpose of the Benghazi investigations was to smear Clinton ahead of her presumed run for the Presidency in 2016.
Cuomo's response seems pretty reasonable too. As a New Yorker, I think that this is a bit of a tempest in a tea pot. Cuomo was not "covering up" deaths, in the conventional sense. What happened is that nursing home residents who died in a hospital were not counted in separate numbers of nursing home deaths for covid. It turns out the numbers were significant, with about a third of the nursing home resident deaths having occurred in a hospital, and thus not counted in separate nursing home deaths. The outrage over this feels rather manufactured, however. Republicans in the state have been desperate to "get" Cuomo for something as his poll numbers have surged during the pandemic. Some national Republicans have hopped on that train too, as Cuomo, who won an Emmy for his daily press conferences on corona, became something of a poster child for Democratic leadership against the virus, in opposition to Trump, who gave up trying to fight the virus in the Spring. Republicans in the state have long been critical of Cuomo's handling of nursing homes during the pandemic, since a large number of people have died there, although their attacks have sometimes been a bit divorced from facts. Now that they've got this new information, and coming from fellow Democrat Tish James, they think they've actually got a way to really attack him. But Cuomo has a real point. Obviously it's better to have accurate information, but it's not clear if matters a whole lot whether these deaths were classified as being "nursing home deaths" or not. The political opposition is mostly going after him for political reasons, but it's not clear if this actually had any practical effects. It's also not clear to what extent this was a conscious thing, or whether it was just an oversight. There's a new report, which Republicans are treating as gospel, that it was an intentional move on the part of one of Cuomo's top aides. But the report comes from a tabloid newspaper which doesn't always have the best journalism and people who were on the phone call being described in it deny that the discussion described occurred. So it's not clear how big a deal this really is.
If little Donnie presi-donut didn't tell Cuomo to 'deal with it' because Cuomo didn't kiss his jacksey, then maybe it wouldn't have happened. NYC drowning in COVID cases, bodies piling up enough for a massive grave, bodies being held in refrigerated trucks on the road. All while Donald J. Trump was bailing out republican Nebraska with few cases and saying 'It is what it is' for blue states. I should know, I was in NYC when it all happened. All Cuomo did was request nursing homes to take elderly in the hospital back because hospitals were overflowing, mind you NY still has the least amount of COVID numbers in the country while republican states have the highest.

The states with the most people with less government help had higher death counts compared to moocher red states with less people yet getting far more government help, tell me more genius.

Killer Cuomo has blood on his hands and should be prosecuted. But watch for the usual Democrat cover up.
