Yes. I have been an atheist, an agnostic and now a believer. My belief is based upon testing the Bible where it can be tested. I cannot test whether or not Jonah was swallowed by a fish, or whether or not Jesus walked upon the water or if the universe was created in six days. I can, however, test some of the historical statements in the Bible, like the reports on the remains of the city of Jericho. I can test statements that make scientific claims. For example, that the earth is round, that the stars cannot be numbered, that there are pathways in the sea(currents). I can test prophetic statements. For example that Israel would be destroyed as a nation, then brought back together, and that the descendants of Ismael and Jacob would always be at war with each other(Arabs and Jews).

Nowhere in the Bible does God promise us an easy life, a good life, a fun life or a long life. It does say that He knows the number of hair on your head and that He does care more than we can ever understand.

I personally do not believe in a god of any sort, but that does not believe that god does not exist. She/He/It may be out there, but I have not experienced anything in my life to lead me to believe there is a god. I think there are a lot of unanswered questions about the universe, but I miss where people make the leap that it must be some consciousness out there. That makes no sense to me.

Try it again only look for what He actually promised. God didn't promise you would be loved by the world, the opposite in fact. What it seems you've done is make up something to trust Him for. It's not even well defined. What does, "does he really wants me to b a better person," mean? What's a better person anyway?
