That's a very interesting question. I have not seen any indication of it happening around here. In fact, Mike Huckabe was on This Week this morning talking about bringing his religion to the white house. The way I see it, is that most people will put religion above intelligence. Even though the basic principles of the bible are based on the ancient Book of the Dead from Egypt. There are just to many people who lack the ability to believe in themselves, hence feel compelled to follow the teachings of various religions. I personally do not have a problem with religion or religious people. I do have a problem with a person taking their religion to extremes. Which in turn turns these people from good hearted religious folks to nothing more than hypocrites.

An increase in intelligence will only lead to the recognition of The Sovereign God. It is the presence of those with selfish motives in the educational system that will keep this from ever happening. Educators today are closed minded and are concerned only for their personal profit. Remember, one day, not too long ago, educators were teaching that the world was flat and the sun revolved around the Earth. As much as DaVinci tried, he could not build a flying machine. It took a bicycle mechanic to build the first airplane. Why wasn't it designed and built by the top minds of that time or sooner? All knowledge comes from God at its appointed time as determined by God to suite His purposes and for His good pleasure. God opened the flood gates of technology at the beginning of the 20th century so that His Word would go out to all the world..."and then the end will come"! You have been warned!

Don't worry about that. As soon as something bad happens, superstitions will rise anew, and, lo and behold, religion will be born again!

Possibly but that does not necessarily mean the end of theism. According to wikianswers only approximately 6-7% of the world's population consider themselves to be "strong atheists" and there will probably always be those who believe in the divine.

If it ends it won't be because of intelligence. Just look at China and the Soviet Union if you want a sneak peak at your Utopian society. They don't show any signs of superior intelligence rather forced compliance to the dogma of those who wish to control the masses with their own beliefs.

That will never happen. Some of us prefer to have a religion. The end of certain religions that promote ignorance would be beneficial though--no more creationism, no more fundies, and no more suicide bombers.

No it's gonna take a couple hundred years. It took a long time for some retards to be convinced the world is round.

I hope that it does happen. Rational thinking, independent thoughts and being a freethinker are traits that will help advance society as long as we do not have anything that is trying to hinder those traits.
