It's not a matter of believing, it is fact. And it's not called multiple personality disorder, it's called dissociative identity disorder. In the grand scheme of things, we all play roles in our lives, we may be sweet and nice to some people, and tough and firm with others, so it is not a stretch to think that our minds can play different roles. And have you ever daydreamed or gotten lost in though and not heard what someone was saying to you - that's a form of dissociation as well. The disorder takes place usually during times of trauma, when an event is so overwhelming that the person can't handle it, and that's when the brain kicks in to help one survive. Say a child is being severely beaten and abused. How can the gentle soul of the child manage? Well in some cases, and it is rare, a part of them shuts off and yet they still manage to survive when the brain kicks in and another personality emerges to get the child through the torture.
I actually experienced an event when I was just 22, I was kidnapped by gunpoint on the street. And when that gun was pressed up against my head I could actually hear a voice inside me say 'bye,' and the actions I next took surprised even me. I was able to get away and get to my friend when we called the police. All that while, I was cool and calm, and did what I needed to do to be safe. All I could think about was how to get out of it. By the time the police arrived I was shaking and terrified, but also madder than all get out - I got so mad, I went out looking for them. And in another hour, I was back to myself. What I know happened that night was that parts of me emerged to save my life, ones I didn't know existed. Now I did partially witness these changes, but I didn't remember everything and recalled them afterward, but who is to say what the mind will or will not do to protect the self.
Now as far as Jekyll and Hyde, that was fiction, but from that story, it does tell of the sides of personality that we are willing to show. Ever met a really nice person and find out later they beat their dog. Or has a friend got a boyfriend who hits them. Or serial killers, they appear like normal people, only they are monsters on the side. Those are the sides of us that we have. The disorder comes when there is separation and lack of knowledge of those other personalities. As well, they are whole personalities, with their own identity, their own separate names and character traits. That is the extreme case for survival of the self, that another personality emerges, and the original personality becomes hidden and protected. Some minds just shut off and switch to another channel - that's probably the easiest way of describing it.

the novel, "Sybil" or rent the miniseries from 1976 it runs about a movie-length of a little over two hours
Dissociative Identity disorder is caused when a child is subjected to repeated severe (usually sexual) abuse. Dissociation is a common side effect of trauma. It is a form of amnesia. You hear all the time abotu people who are raped or have car accidents and they can't remember it... That is dissociative amnesia and it is very common but if you take a young child (under the age of say 8) and they are raped over and over again by a parent or someone who they should be able to trust, they have more and more of these dissociated memories and emotions and eventually they take on a life of their own and become like a nother person. Because all of the memories and emotions that make up the new person are a form of amnesia.... the original (or host) person is not aware of the new person. This is the minds way of protecting itself and having one personality be able to grow and develop normally without even having knowledge of ever being abused. It isn't common but it is real.
You have each Schizo and DID? With DID i inspiration you did not recognise there used to be an additional character (until you had been advised of direction) and that the personalites stored replacing once in a while, as a consequence your character proper now can be taken over, however you are going to take all over again. Unless you're asking approximately a jogging dialog hallucination which i could haven't any notion, however expect you could have manipulate. You sound beautiful steady regardless that, for my part. Go ask your intellectual wellness authentic or whoever identified you.
