"We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people … it's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." -- Joe Biden
All while our economy is not doing to well, markets are at a low, and banks are going bankrupt, unemployment is at a high... do you agree with Joe Biden that we should be paying higher taxes?
Do you think it is “Patriotic” to pay higher taxes… Including higher business taxes, higher income taxes, higher investment income taxes, higher payroll taxes, and a higher death tax??

A politician that asks for more than 10% of a man's labor is not to be trusted.
Benjamin Franklin
What kind of anti-American would give Ben Franklin a thumbs down?
Joe Biden's comments are a window into the mind of an income-redistribution idealogue.
The top 5% pay 60% of all icome tax. Biden wants even more! I don't have a soft spot for rich people, I just think there is something American about paying your due. And to ask anymore in the form of government taxes from rich people is asking for something I didn't earn. I can't support that. The American Dream is that your ingenuity and hard work earns you a reward. Not that it earns you a reward but then a big part of that reward is taken from you and given to someone else who hasn't achieved what you have?
I think a consumption based tax is the most "Patriotic" thing we can do. You pay taxes on what you buy, not what you earn. Rich people will still pay more because they consume more. I think "Patriotic" is military service or volunteering. I hardly see how punishing those who earn more is "Patriotic".
No, it isn't. Of course we all have to pay taxes for the country to run smoothly, but it isn't fair to raise taxes for people who make more money. I don't think it's fair that because I went through 4 years of college and 4 years of dental school to make something of myself, that I should have to pay more in taxes to make up for people who don't work as hard. Why should the government and the people who have worked hard have to take care of everyone else? I'm sure Obama and Biden's plan to tax the "rich" and big businesses will work out just great when businesses start having to lay people off to make up for their tax losses. Sounds like a winner to me, NOT. We should all have to pay the same percentage of our wages, rather than higher income people having to make up for everyone else.
NO! My taxes are high enough as it is. Paying more taxes would not solve anything. The government will keep on spending money like there was no end to it. If you on the other hand want to pay more in taxes feel free to pay as much as you want. As for myself I want to have enough to afford the things my family and myself need.
Joe Biden is a sad joke.
Charity is whats patriotic, something biden and obama dont seem to do...
Why do obama and biden want to give your money away when they only donate less than 1% to charities.?
obama gives average 3500 a year when he is making 4 to 6 million a year
Biden gives 369 dollars a year when they take in 360 thousand a year
MCain gives 202 thousand a year when he makes 440 thousand a year.
Cindy, who has nothing to do with this gives 10 to 20% of her income each and every year.
below are the sources AND their tax returns.
These figres are FROM their own tax returns.
So, if its partiotic to pay taxes, wouldnt it be MORE patriotic to give to charites?
seems the dems have NO problem spending YOUR money, but do NOT touch theirs!!!

Biden and his wife, Jill, earned $319,853 in adjusted gross income and paid $72,787 in federal taxes last year, including $2,721 in alternative minimum taxes. They claimed $995 in deductions for charitable giving, about triple what they deducted in any of the nine previous years. Over the past decade they reported giving an average of $369 to charity.

Sen. Barack Obama released seven years of prior tax return documents on Tuesday. And a review of the records reveals several newsworthy, albeit minor, disclosures.
Up until recent years when their income increased sharply from book revenues and a Senate salary, Obama's family donated a relatively minor amount of its earnings to charity. From 2000 through 2004, the senator and his wife never gave more than $3,500 a year in charitable donations -- about 1 percent of their annual earnings.
there only 2 charities were Rev Wright and the United N E G R O S fund.

Mccain on the other hand donates 1/4th of his income and Cindy donates 10 to 20 % of her income.
John McCain reported giving more than $202,000 — a quarter of his income — to charity in 2006 and 2007, the only years for which his campaign released his tax returns. His campaign didn't release information about his wife's charitable contributions, however. In 2006, her total itemized tax deductions, a category which includes charitable contributions and other deductible items such as mortgage interest, was $569,737, or 9.3% of her income.
Biden is asking that higher income people pay their fair share. I for one am sick and tired of being called un-patriotic because I am not backing the fat cats. So let them put their money where there mouth is and put up or shut up.
Actually, Obama voted to raise taxes on people making more than $31,850 [25% tax bracket]. Biden is full of nonsense again.
I think it is time for ALL Americans to contribute in whatever way is possible for them to contribute.
We were told that the so-called Bush tax cuts would lead to a better economy, that was over five years ago and now we have record unemployment and a failing economy.
Time for another plan
paying money to help the nation? what isn't patriotic about that? Would i rather keep my money and this country crumble? No. if they have to tax me to help my brothers in this country, im for it! I love this country and the people in. I guess some only want to help themselves.
If that is the case I do not mind being unpatriotic for this.
And once again the dems put up another loser.
