Because it depends on what color on what looks good. For example, I would say grey is my least favorite color, but I like grey cars and grey suits. I don’t like brown on cars, but brown looks good on doors and cabinets. I don't like yellow shoes, but I like yellow T-shirts. I don't like pink pants, but I like pink flowers, and so on.

I fully agree with you. I have always had trouble with that question.
Yes, and for me personally My favorite anything really.
Just because your favourite colour is blue doesn't mean you want everything to be blue lol. It just means if you see a panel of colours on a palette which one do you like most
Your favorite color as a child means EVERYTHING is in that color, from toys to clothes, and even food, if you can find it. That's just kid logic.
As an adult, you start learning about what goes with what, what colors look good on you, even though they aren't necessarily your absolute favorite, but at the same time, many people still have a favorite. Lately, I've been really attracted to blues and I've always loved green, so I just automatically look for things in those colors. Same with black and gray. It's just what I gravitate towards.
In a way, you are both right and wrong. You can still have a favorite, but unlike a child, it's not the be-all, end-all color that everything in your life has to be. You grow up, maybe live with someone that has different tastes, but you can still have a personal favorite and have certain items in that color at all times.
People still have a favourite colour though.
