Just this past month or two 1,500 Chinese were caught sneaking across the southern border with Mexicans and they may be infected with the virus. Who knows how many were not caught. The virus would still get here.
Not when any virus on goods from China would have died during the time they take to reach the US. And not when people carrying the virus are just as likely to have come from all those other countries where there are outbreaks, currently South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Italy, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmara and Vietnam.

Chinese goods are everywhere around the globe, in large numbers. Strong Visa restrictions? Now that's another story.
China would have ended the US.
Japan did the same to America before your time and paid a hard price for it. History has repeated herself again with China
The consumer wanted cheap stuff, China was more than happy to make this cheap stuff for US retailers who passed those savings on to the US shopper.
