You certainly don't have anything to lose in texting him, especially if you are going to ask him to meet up. However, I would try and address the bigger problem and work on your confidence around guys. I think the secret to talking to guys is not so much what you talk about as it is being relaxed and confident; if you can do those two things then this guy is going to feel comfortable around you. In saying that, if you are struggling for ideas on what to talk about with this guy then try asking him questions that will get him to reveal his personality. Questions like that convey a genuine interest in a guy which is a really attractive quality. Hopefully I have helped :)
