Crazy L’Hopital’s rule stories: can you guess which one is true?

Professor Grayles did the entire L’Hopital’s Rule lecture in a French accent… it was kind of hard to understand since it was done in such a heavy, exxagerated accent, but it was fun and helped us learn a bit of history behind the rule.

Prof. Wood decided to do a chemistry experiment while he talked about L’Hopital’s rule… I don’t understand why he chose to do what he did but it worked, it really did help me remember the rule pretty well. I think he gave a reason, I just don’t remember it. I think he spilled some serious chemicals on his arm though, so he had to leave and the TA came and finished the lecture for him. I think an ambulance came and got him… it was pretty serious.

Prof. Richardson talked about the day he first learned L’Hopital’s rule… it was kind of stupid because I think he did it only to show us how smart he was… taking calculus at “13 years old” what a *****, it helped me remember though.

I had a professor who called it “the hospital rule”, one day prof. Hilton came into class with a toy gun spray painted black, wearing a white doctor’s coat, and had old bloody bandages around his shoulders and on his head. He said in a very harsh voice, while pointing the gun at students:

“Class, today we’re going to study L’Hopital’s rule, or as I like to call it, the hospital rule, if you fail to understand it I’m puttin’ you in the hospital… personally!”

Needless to say, he got arrested, fired, and eventually ended up in a mental hospital, they later determined he suffered from the early stages of vascular dementia, and had undiagnosed schizophrenia for at least 20 years before the incident. He was only trying to be funny, but we certainly were not laughing.

Our teacher hired a rapper to come and do a rap about L’Hopital’s rule during class, his name was “Mc Math”. Everything was fine until he uttered the n-word in his lyrics, then everything went awry. There were a few Latinos and African Americans in the class. He became red, but he kept on rapping, he tired to divert attention from the n-word by mixing in words like “bigger”, “figure”, and even “trigger”, but it was too late… eventually he started having a panic attack, he fell to the ground screaming that he was having a heart attack. They had to carry him out of the classroom.
