I think you may be a little muddled.
Unfortunately, cos^(-1) doesn't make any sense.
If you mean inverse cosine of something, say x, try arccos(x), or cos⁻¹(x).
If you mean cosine of the number -1, write cos(-1). The caret is not necessary.

To try and help a little, if you meant:
θ ≡ arccos(x) ⇔ x ≡ cos(θ)
Then you are correct.
