It's not a strange case..H2O can have 3 states (water, ice, steam), man has 3 states (mind, body, soul/spirit) and one sheet of paper can be ripped and formed into 3 different shapes with completely different capabilities (flat--floats-- folded---stands, crumbled---falls)
God isn't three different beings. Who told you that?
The Trinitarian doctrine does not state that God is three different beings, only that God is able to manifest Himself in three ways: Body (Jesus), Mind (God Himself), Spirit (Holy Spirit).
Edit: No, that's a misunderstanding of what the Trinity is. God is not divided up into three equal or unequal parts. God is infinite; how could He be divided? All three aspects of the Trinity work together, because He is one God.
The "water" metaphor works very well in this case.
They can't be. More garbage spread by people who have no idea what they are talking about.
The concept of the Trinity has NO PLACE in the Bible or ANYWHERE in Christ's teachings. The extent to which people have perverted Christ's original message is nothing short of astonishing.

Not all Christians believe that. Mormons believe God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate and distinct individuals.

He's not.
Here's a question for you:
"Why would we expect an infinite God to be completely understandable to mortal man?"
The real question is not, "What can I understand?", but, "What has God revealed."
He can't be! There's only ONE! God is ONE. Galatians 3:20.
Council of Nicaea?
If he divides himself into three equal parts. Nothing is impossible to him.
