I dont think that consensus have a big effect at the 2012 Taiwan election since that consensus has been there since 1992. What the Taiwanese know is that if they vote for KMT, of course they are supporting the 1992 consensus. And if they vote for DPP, of course they are supporting the Taiwan consensus (proposed by Tsai Ing Wen).
