My 2000 Nissan Sentra needed an alternator replacement so I took it to a shop. Radio worked fine when I brought it in. I get it back everything works except the radio. Now my radio is not a base model. The previous owner installed a Sony one, nothing to fancy but it has an aux cord, so probably a 2009 radio by the looks of it. Anyways the radio won’t work and everything else electrical is fine so any ideas on why it won’t work and if you know why what do I do?

Don't know how your question showed up in optical but I think there is a good chance that Kayleen is correct. Some radios don't work if they have been disconnected from power and then reconnected. The idea is that if a radio is stolen, it won't work for the thief once they try to install it in their car. You should Google the model of Sony radio that you have and look at the owner's manual. It is possible that it is a blown fuse as well.
You will need a code to get your radio working

See a car audio shop. Unit could have failed or just a bad fuse.
This seems to be a common problem with a number of cars, not just Nissan. However, the fix was different in many of the cases. One, it was a bad multiplex unit (on a Honda Civic) and it isn't known if the bad alternator caused it. Bottom line is you'll have to have someone that knows what they're doing identify the exact problem.
Most likely a coincidence failure or some fool wired the radio to the alternator. Have a qualified person look at it.
