Can I do something about my job not letting me work anymore after I took leave? ?
I took leave for a few weeks because I have a medical condition and I didn’t want to be out at work where there’s a lot of people during the corona pandemic because my immune system is low. after almost a month, I came back and I was promised I could have my job back whenever I was well enough to come back to work but they won’t give me it back now... can I do something about this?

They do not have to give you your job back You left voluntarily.

no in this country most employment is employment at will unless you have a contract, You can quit any time and they can let you go at any time or any reason or no reason. If you had a DR note you could have taken medical leave but it sounds like you just took the time off
You can look for another job.
