I have spent so much time looking for the best digital compact camera that I can afford and read so many reviews that I'm starting to go insane so I thought I would get some more opinions on here.
Some features I would really like in a compact camera are possibly touch screen, really high quality images (so a high mega pixel of around 14+) and some cameras have front screens or flip out screens that I would love for better close up images of me and my partner when we are travelling and it's just the two of us to take the photo. I also would love a compact with a decent auto focus that allows quite a shallow depth of field in a photo, so that I can focus on an object and alter the background to make it blur easily.
Any reasonably priced compact cameras that include any of these features and are small and slim enough to take travelling with me would be fantastic so all suggestions will be so appreciated!

Mine is HD, 14MP, and 8X zoom. (Great for a small camera). It also has lots of settings for different weathers, scenes, etc. I forget the size of the screen on this back but it's pretty big.
Great small camera. Was only about $170 too.
Nikon s6100 is 14mp and touchscreen interface.
As for shallow DOF, compacts are not strong for this. Get as close as you can and use a long zoom, should get you a decent DOF.
