We did a lab in class about monosaccharide's and a question on it is... what laboratory evidence suggests that not all sugars are monosaccharide's?? How can I answer this question properly! Please help!!

Sucrose is a disaccharide sugar which is a non-reducing sugar and gives a negative result when heated with Benedict's solution. However if the sucrose is hydrolysed into its constitutive glucose and fructose and retested with Benedict's a positive result is obtained.
