Doctors seldom speak to patients directly on the phone or internet. That's usually relegated to nurses. And such communications are just part of running a business. A doctor's office IS a business.
I have never had a diagnosis over the phone.
Every phone call I have ever made to a Dr's office was to make an appointment.
