For example if I am the one who is applying a job from you, and I gave you two references, two of them were my former supervisors, and one character reference who was my former co-worker. What set of questions would you ask them (list them if you will)?
By the way, is there any point as regards to job references? Who would give the potential boss job references that will give negative comments about him/her anyways????

So, you are applying for a job. I can tell you some things since I was in the position of asking these questions when I was considering hiring nurses. One, it's very important to ask for references and no, they don't always give negative comments. When I asked the person who was given as a reference, if they said, "Oh, she/he worked here for x amount of time," or "They got along with most people", they are hiding the fact that the person was a lousy employee without using those words. You have to read between the line. Now, if the person was really good, they will say, "He/she was a great employee, always on time, loyal, never missed work and I'm going to miss them." Then you know you have a great prospect for a new employee. Former employers cannot use negative comments for fear of being sued but if you can read in between the lines, you know exactly what they are trying to say. If they only give family members as references, it's a warning sign. If they give a friend they've known for many years, another warning sign because these people will always say nice things about the potential employee. You are allowed to do a police search on them. That's the law now. I don't know where you're from, but I know all applications ask how long you've known a person they are giving for a reference.. If they have gone from job to job in only a matter of a couple of years, you know they won't last long. Try and hire someone who's been an employee for at least 5 yrs in one place. Check out the reason they left. I would always ask why they left their last place and then call the former employer to verify it. I always asked the references if they were related to him/her. It's just common sense if you think about what you want. Hope that helps.
be truthful as terrific as a possibility and purely tell them, you recognize, i dont prefer to be rude or say something detrimental approximately my former corporation yet i left the activity because of fact of (how ya'll have been getting alongside, or individually left because of fact of treatment there, or say a undertaking got here up and it substitute into dealt with poorly or in a manner that i felt substitute into unfair) and desperate that i wanted to artwork someplace the place i felt that treatment or regardless of it fairly is that made you pass away wont ensue lower back. they would be know-how in the experience that your truthful in asserting which you dont prefer to be detrimental yet which you left for a private/regardless of reason.
