That may sound unreasonable but that is how the human mind works.
If you have hooks like 1 + 1 = 2 and 2 + 2 = 4 then you might be happy with the concept that 3 + 3 = 6. You might also be able to remember it.
However, if I then suggested that second declension nouns in Latin are mostly masculine or neuter you might not be able to take that on board so easily because it is completely unrelated to any previous knowledge.
So, you do not just collect facts you start piecing together your own jigsaw. If a piece fits you sot it in. If it does not fit then you see whether you have made a mistake or got a piece from another jigsaw.
Some people, it seems, do just collect facts and if they trust the source they never question them. They would be better off trying the jigsaw approach. IMHO!
I acquired my world view by comparing as many POV's as possible. Using appropriate critical analysis to determine possible biases or manipulated context.
Still willing to consider adjusting my outlook if any credible information comes my way, that is presented within objective and complete context.
Everyone has their own unique worldview. It can be interesting to have your own view challenged.
To me, if I see another point of view that seems to make sense (even if it goes against some of my preconceived notions), I'll think about it. Once I've mulled it over, it will either strengthen my current views or weaken them. It's pretty rare that my opinions change on a whim, though.

Yes I am.
No, I welcome different points if view, unlike Conservatives in general.
No, I refute liberalism in all it's forms, no matter how communistic they go. I am a real American who has no use for Democrats and other criminals.

I feel like I've looked at all sides, including things I've seen that I still can't explain to this day.
