Having a capsule wardrobe for each season, so a capsule for every 3 months.
An example would be 7 tops, 4 bottoms and 3 dresses. Jackets, shoes, purses excluded. Would it be practical? Even though you could make 30 outfits if they're interchangeable, so you'd only wear each outfit 3 times in 3 months... Yet you would wear each individual piece a lot of times, so you'd need to wash your clothes a lot more often and they'd probably break down faster. What are your thoughts on capsule wardrobes, do you think they're worth it?

No it's ill advised....especially if you are on a budget.
The most diverse and practical way to have a wardrobe is to make all elements of it (e.g., blouses, jackets, skirts, trousers, shorts, shoes, and hose) color, style, and texture coordinated so that they are mix and match throughout. And to accommodate the changing weather over the seasons have layers from inside to out (e.g., short sleeves, sweaters, light jackets, heavy coat) in that wardrobe.
So the short answer is...have mix and match, and layers in your wardrobe if you're on a budget.
