For some time now I have had problems going to the toilet to pass water.
I have had the urge to go but at times I have to wait a minute or so to empty my bladder. (Too much info)
Basically I had a small op and was told that I had prostitis.
I have been given tablets to help-and they do.
But something I have noticed recently is when eventually I do pass water when I think I have emptied my bladder I do ‘dribble’ a little bit.
This is not a major problem just have to wash my jeans/shorts every day.
The specialist has taken me off his books and so won’t need to see him again-unless things get worse I was told.
I don’t want to bother him with this problem but wanted to hear from other men who suffer this or other professionals who might know about this problem.
Basically is this another problem of having prostitis?
Thank you

Doesn't have to be, but probably is an enlarged prostate or complications relating to prostate cancer. Both of which deserve regular monitoring. I just spent yesterday in a seminar about prostate cancer, you have a problem that can be helped whatever the cause. If your urologist had dismissed you, go find another who deals with the "quality of life" issue you describe -- after he checks for the more serious possibilities.
These symptoms are normally not associated with Prostatitis.
Besides Prostatitis, there are two other types of prostate disorders:
1) BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia, is the second common problem that can occur in the prostate. "Benign" means "not cancerous" and "hyperplasia" means "too much growth." As men age, the prostate gland slowly enlarges. The gland tends to expand in an area that doesn't expand with it, causing pressure on the urethra, which can lead to urinary problems. The urge to urinate frequently, a weak urine flow, breaks in urine stream, and dribbling are all symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
2) Prostate Cancer is one of the most common cancers in American men. There are no warning signs of symptoms of early prostate cancer. Once a malignant tumor causes the prostate gland to swell significantly, or once cancer spreads beyond the prostate, the following symptoms may be present:
A frequent need to urinate, especially at night
Difficulty starting or stopping the urinary stream
A weak or interrupted urinary stream
A painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation
Blood in urine or semen
You might have either one of these conditions. Most likely its enlarged prostate.
