I'm not sure, but I feel in a way death is the end. But I've been told things by trustable folks I know that makes me belive the spirit is able to visit us shortly after a persons death.

my belief holds in a self judgement period. Which is where you watch and review your life, see the good you've done, feel it, and feel the joy from the people you've helped as well as the opposit-hurt an dpain you cause others. You then learn from it and judge how you could have done better and such.
